The "Friends of the South Warrington Library in Stockton Heath" (SWISH) are dedicated to making the library a valued asset of the Local Community by supporting the development of activities which enhance the use of its facilities. SWISH seek to make the library a valuable local resource by holding regular events such as Film Nights, Board Game Nights, Wine Tasting, Lectures and Art Exhibitions. We need YOUR UNWANTED BOOKS!. Are your book-shelves creaking with books that you have accumulated over the Covid period? The SWISH Library Friends are holding a SECOND HAND BOOK SALE as part of Stockton Heath Festival on 2nd and 3rd July. We are looking for donations, however small of books, DVDs and CDs which we can re-sell at our stall in support of Stockton Heath Library.

The Autumn Season of Film Nights has just been released with 4 films being shown from September onwards. Belfast, Dead Poets Society, Whisky Galore and Singin' in the Rain will all be shown in the Library on a Friday evening.

On Wednesday, 25th May you can find out how a children's poet and a retired headteacher started self-publishing to raise money for a local children's charity. During this humorous and entertaining talk, David will read some children's poems from their latest book and retell some funny tales from his time working in schools.

Ellen Heesom was a Warrington woman who was tried and found guilty of multiple murders of members of her family. Find out how differently the law was administered in the 19 century. Board Games Nights

Board Games Nights
Board Games Nights are back on the third Thursday of every month. No need to book, just turn up, and bring any games you would like to play (ideally quarantine them for a couple of days prior). There will be a huge variety of games on offer from simple to complex, short to long, player vs player or ones where you work together as a team. Try out something new or old in relaxed, friendly company. Under 16s welcome accompanied by their parent or guardian.

Library Reading Group. Come along to our Weekly Reading Group at the Library, every Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Reading Friends is a new kind of weekly reading group that brings people together in a relaxed and social atmosphere, to read, have a cup of tea and chat.
No need to book, just turn up.
