The "Friends of the South Warrington Library in Stockton Heath" (SWISH) are dedicated to making the library a valued asset of the Local Community by supporting the development of activities which enhance the use of its facilities
SWISH seek to make the library a valuable local resource by holding regular events such as Film Nights, Board Game Nights, Wine Tasting, Lectures and Art Exhibitions. Winter 2020 Friends Newsletter
Bill Cooke is back with his insight in to the town’s past; Anita Young is holding two wildlife drawing workshops; the ever popular film nights continue to brighten the winter months and the board games nights bring challenges and entertainment to all those who join in. 2020 also recognises the 75th anniversary of VE day and we will be looking to mark the occasion. Stockton Heath festival takes places in July and we have something different in the pipelines for this year. More details will be announced later in the year.
Friends against SCAMS
Come along and learn about the different types of scams that exist and how we can protect ourselves against them. Learn the important top 5 tips, as well as how scams can affect anyone, even the younger generation. Natalie White from NatWest will be coming to Stockton Heath Library to give us all a greater insight into how we can protect ourselves.
Bill Cooke's Historical talks
Bill is back with his fabulous talks on the history of Warrington. The first is on Thursday 13th February at 7:30pm when he will present "The Boteler family in the 14th century". On the 5th March the talk is on "Warrington Scandals" and on the 2nd April, "Warrington in the 1980’s." All talks will start at 7:30pm at Stockton Heath Library and cost just £4. Places sell out fast so book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available from Stockton Heath Library. Refreshments provided.

All proceeds going to the Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support we help families smile again when life couldn’t get any tougher.

Board Games Nights in 2020
Board gaming nights are held on the third Thursday of every month. A variety of games will be on offer from simple to complex, short to long, player vs player or ones where you work together as a team. All abilities and ages from 16 years and up are welcome.
Stockton Heath Library Re-opens
Stockton Heath Library reopened on Monday 2nd September following a 12-week, £195,000, redevelopment that includes dementia-friendly design throughout and more flexible activity and events spaces. Other improvements made during the redevelopment, aim to transform the library into a more fit for purpose facility for the South Warrington community.
