The "Friends of the South Warrington Library in Stockton Heath" (SWISH) are dedicated to making the library a valued asset of the Local Community by supporting the development of activities which enhance the use of its facilities
SWISH seek to make the library a valuable local resource by holding regular events such as Film Nights, Board Game Nights, Wine Tasting, Lectures and Art Exhibitions. £2 Snow Angels at Stockton Heath library. All proceeds going to the Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support we help families smile again when life couldn’t get any tougher.
A Tale of Three Writers
Three local authors, Carol Bissett, Liz Hedgecock, Mike Jackson visit Stockton Heath Library and talk about their writing and publishing journey. An informal, fun evening with book readings, chat and a Q&A. Books and refreshments available! Thursday 7th November, 7-8.30pm. Booking is essential. Tickets £2 from Stockton Heath library.
Film Club - Friday November 29th
Led by young officer Stanhope, whose mental health is rapidly disintegrating, a group of British soldiers await their fate in an Aisne dugout during the end of World War 1. Contact Lynn to reserve your seat for any of the films. Tel: 07870 950769
Board Games Nights in 2019
Board gaming nights are held on the third Thursday of every month. A variety of games will be on offer from simple to complex, short to long, player vs player or ones where you work together as a team. All abilities and ages from 16 years and up are welcome.

Widen Your Social Circle
Over 55's Get Together. Widen your social circle, meet new people and make new friends. Monday 4th November and Monday 2nd December 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub. Free tea, coffee and biscuits and available for a small donation. Booking required by calling any LiveWire Library.
The Library of Lost and Found
Wednesday 6th November from 11.00am-12.30pm. at Warrington Library. Listen to Phaedra Patrick talk about her book and answer your questions. Refreshments available for £1.00. This year's Great North West Read. Booking required. Book by visiting any LiveWire Library.
Saturday 9th November from 11am-3pm at Warrington Museum and Library. Join us for free, family fun including Mighty Myths Storytelling performances by Thor and Loki at 12.00pm and 2.00pm. Viking Games and Music Viking Artifacts. Make a sword and shield and more ..
Stockton Heath Library Re-opens
Stockton Heath Library reopened on Monday 2nd September following a 12-week, £195,000, redevelopment that includes dementia-friendly design throughout and more flexible activity and events spaces. Other improvements made during the redevelopment, aim to transform the library into a more fit for purpose facility for the South Warrington community.
May 2019 Newsletter
2018 was an amazing year for the Friends, with so many successes it is hard to list them all. From the popular talks by Bill Cooke to Stockton Heath Festival, to a wonderful Wine Tasting evening. The film nights go from strength to strength and in the autumn we introduced a new monthly Board Games Night.
