The "Friends of the South Warrington Library in Stockton Heath" (SWISH) are dedicated to making the library a valued asset of the Local Community by supporting the development of activities which enhance the use of its facilities. SWISH seek to make the library a valuable local resource by holding regular events such as Film Nights, Board Game Nights, Wine Tasting, Lectures and Art Exhibitions. October Sky is a 1999 American biographical drama film starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Cooper, Chris Owen, and Laura Dern. The screenplay is based on the book of the same name and tells the story of Homer H. Hickam Jr., a coal miner’s son who was inspired by the launch of Sputnik 1 in 1957 to take up rocketry against his father’s wishes and eventually became a NASA engineer.
