H.G.Wells – The Man Who Saw the 21st Century

H G Wells was a prophet and visionary who made a series of forecasts about how the twenty-first century would look.
The talk will focus on three aspects. Wells as a prophet of the internet; what he said about world government and his role as a Cassandra for the environment.
The talk is based on Dr. Cooke’s work “H G Wells and the Twenty-first Century”, published by Liverpool University Press (2023).
